In The Beginning

In The Beginning

Let me introduce ourselves to you, Jim's perspective.  Cindy "The Admiral" and I first met in junior high school at Ervin Junior High School in Kansas City, Missouri way back when. We knew each other until graduating in the first graduation class of Hickman Mills High School 1974.  Although not close friends, we did share a lot of classes together.  Let it be known, I had quite a baby face and Cindy thought I was a brainiac and a lot younger. Little did she know I was actually her senior by about 8 months.  I graduated early and joined the U.S. Air Force and we went our separate ways. Fast forward many years. We both attended our 35th high school reunion and by what we believe was the work of angels, were literally pushed together, just like in the movies, startled, looking at each others name tags. "I remember you!"  and so it goes. We both were divorced and not looking for a relationship, but as it happened, she friended me on Facebook and after a couple of years we were married, very happily married! At the time we reacquainted I was sailing with a local sailing club, The Jacomo Sailing Club. I was sailing a small Oday Javelin on Lake Jacomo, but had taken ASA training on small boats and had recently completed keelboat and bareboat certification training in the Virgin Islands.  I had big dreams of one day cruising the world, my dream soon became Cindy's dream also and our path to cruising began. - Jim
